Originally from Eugene Oregon, Brad started playing guitar at age 8 and in the late 60’s and early 70’s was performing as a blues and rock guitarist inspired by Eric Clapton of Cream and Blind Faith, BB King, Led Zeppelin, and others.

Primarily self-taught he was Influenced by recordings of Pat Martino, Howard Roberts, Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, Art Blakey, Dexter Gordon, Stan Getz, Chick Corea, Bill Evans, and Antonio Carlos Jobim.  His musical interest  later turned to jazz where in high school he was the guitarist for the school jazz band as well as his own funk / jazz combo.  He later attended Lane community college in Eugene Oregon studying Jazz and Classical guitar. Other music education includes studies with Milo Petersen and the Faunt School of Creative Music in Los Angeles CA.

In 2002 he started playing 7-string guitar which provides a greater harmonic range and serves as the perfect instrument for the duo work that he does with other guitarists, horn players, and vocalists.

Brad currently resides on Seattle’s Eastside in Sammamish, Washington working regularly as a leader with his quartet, trio, and duo in addition to working as a side man for other projects.

The Fairly Honest Jazz Band - A 9 piece jazz orchestra featuring vocalist Chrissy Lewis. (Performing at Tula's in Seattle the last Sunday of each month).
